A common small circuit breaker uses mechanical methods to separate its moving and fixed contacts when opening the circuit, while when closing the circuit, it uses opposite mechanical movements to close the moving and fixed contacts. When interrupting and connecting the load circuit during operation, an arc will be generated between the contacts. The arc generated during the breaking process is more severe than during the closing process. When the current to be disconnected is large, especially in the case of a short circuit, the arc will be large, so disconnecting the circuit is usually very difficult.
1. TN-S and TN-C-S systems usually do not require the use of four-pole circuit breakers. However, there are some special situations in the TN-S system, such as severe three-phase imbalance or high zero sequence harmonic content. Further research is needed on whether to use a four pole circuit breaker;
2. The power input circuit breaker of the TT system should use a four pole circuit breaker;
3. In IT systems, if there is a neutral lead, a four pole circuit breaker should be used.
