What are the classifications of photovoltaic power generation systems

2024-03-04

A photovoltaic system is a power generation system that uses solar cells to directly convert solar energy into electrical energy. Its main components are solar cells, batteries, controllers, and inverters. Its characteristics are high reliability, long service life, no environmental pollution, independent power generation and grid connected operation, which are favored by enterprises in various countries and have broad development prospects. Today, CHYT Electric will talk to us about the classification of photovoltaic power generation systems.

1. Independent photovoltaic power generation, also known as off grid photovoltaic power generation. It is mainly composed of solar cell components, controllers, and batteries. To provide power for communication loads, a communication inverter is also required. Independent photovoltaic power stations include village power supply systems in remote areas, solar household power supply systems, communication signal power sources, cathodic protection, solar street lights, and various photovoltaic power generation systems with batteries that can operate independently.

2. Grid connected photovoltaic power generation refers to the direct current generated by solar modules being converted into communication electricity that meets the requirements of the municipal power grid through grid connected inverters, and then directly connected to the public power grid.

It can be divided into grid connected power generation systems with and without batteries. The grid connected power generation system with batteries has schedulability, can be integrated or exited from the power grid as needed, and also has the function of backup power supply. When the power grid loses power due to unforeseen circumstances, emergency power supply can be provided.

3. Distributed photovoltaic power generation system, also known as distributed power generation or distributed energy supply, refers to the installation of smaller photovoltaic power supply systems on or near the user site to meet the needs of specific users, support the economic operation of existing distribution networks, and perhaps meet both requirements.
