Istanbul Airport will become the world's first airport to utilize solar power generation

Türkiye's Annadoru News Agency reported on April 9 that Istanbul Airport will meet all its power needs by building a solar power plant in Eskishir. At that time, it will become the first airport in the world that is fully powered by solar energy. The Eskishir solar power project has an investment of 212 million euros, covers an area of approximately 3 million square meters, installs 439000 photovoltaic panels, and generates approximately 340 million kilowatt hours of electricity annually.
