Ivory Coast's clean energy share in 2023 is expected to be around 30%

According to a report on July 3rd, Cote d'Ivoire will build a 50MWc solar photovoltaic power station in its northern region. The project covers an area of 50 hectares and costs 37 billion Spanish francs. It is financed by KONG Solaire, AFRICA VIA, and INFRACO AFRICA, and is expected to be put into operation in the third quarter of 2026.

Previously, the first 37.5MWc photovoltaic power station in the northern region of Bengali was completed and put into operation on April 3, and the West African Development Bank provided financing support for the Sokhiro solar power station located in Ferkesedugu. At present, thermal power accounts for 76.4% and hydropower accounts for 23.6%, with clean energy accounting for 30%. The goal is to reach 45% by 2030.
